I 1st tested Twitter when they were Twttr (or something like that) last year and didn’t get it. I recently got it. I don’t know how but I got the Twitter bug. For those Twitterholics like me, there are check out TwitThis! and TwitterBuzz.

TwitThis! allows you to add a button on your blog posts similar to DiggThis. Twitterbuzz shows you what people are linking to. Expect a lot of Twitter related sites to launch by the summer. I wonder how cool Twitter about folks using their domain. So far, it looks like they have been nonprofit sites. Who will be the 1st to monetize Twitter? Who will be the 1st to bring Twitter to the Nintendo Wii? Damn, I wish I knew how to program

What does this mean? It could either mean that TechCrunch will just focus on expanding their new media empire, buying Web2.0 companies, buying old media or other blogs. Will TechCrunch by Mashable?

I have the pleasure of confirming the rumors: Heather Harde, currently the SVP of Mergers and Acquisitions at Fox Interactive Media, will start her new job as the CEO of the TechCrunch Network (and my boss) by the end of the month. This isn’t the way I hoped to announce this news, but Om Malik broke the story after an internal Fox email got out.

There is a lot for her to do. She will run every aspect of our business other than editorial, which I’ll be focusing on for now. TechCrunch has grown faster than I could manage over the last couple of years. Heather’s job will be to leverage the opportunities that we have sometimes let slip by, and to manage our organic and acquisition growth going forward.

You know those livestrong type banners you see in the corner of blogs? Want one? BlogSticker has an easy way you can add one to your site. Check out “Made in the Philippines” on PinoyNewMedia. Hopefully they will have a feature where you can put the sticker on the right side of your blog.

In my previous post on NoypiTunes, I asked asked Chikka about the NoypiTunes name and clarification about their disclaimer that read “Artists names are strictly for identification purposes only”. I finally received an email response. As some of you know, someone from Chikka threatened me and saying that I should “Be careful of what you’re writing” and that “or the record, NOYPITUNES is a registered brand in the U.S. and they passed all the legal requirements”. The email I received from Chikka tells a different story:

Thank you for your email.

The disclaimer means that noypiTunes deals with the publishers of the melodies/songs and not the artists themselves. The songs are identified by the artists who have popularized them. Artists’ names are then merely indicative of the version of the songs featured in noypiTunes. The said disclaimer is required by the publishers. All musical compositions featured are covered by appropriate licenses.

As to the use of the noypiTunes names and logos, we have applied to use the name in the US. The application is currently pending the trademark offices’ review and we are awaiting approval.

Meanwhile, we are offering OPM tones in various formats including polyphonic tones which would work on most popular mobile phone brands.

You may have noticed an increased amount of MySpace spam comments on your profile. It looks like a lot of people fell for the fishing attempt a few weeks ago. Many MySpace users received an email from some “Sexy girl” that requires you to login to your MySpace account. The URL pointed to a site that looked like MySpace. I almost fell for it!
